Introduction to Writing with Common Core
Writing is an important and powerful way to build and assess student understanding. This fast paced session will help you find ideas and resources to implement Common Core ELA/Writing and science or social studies literacy standards as part of writing across your curriculum.

**This session is appropriate for teachers at ALL technology comfort levels.

As a result of this session and through individual follow-up, teachers will:
•	Explore a sampling of web-based writing tools and resources, including Common Core–appropriate writing prompts, word choice/vocabulary resources, common error help, tools for citations and research, writing templates, and more
•	Refer to Common Core to guide in selection of appropriate resources
•	Locate specific TeachersFirst writing resources appropriate for the his/her subject and grade level
•	Consider possible writing projects or activities that students can do in his/her classes using web-based resources.
•	(followup) Implement Common Core appropriate writing lesson(s) with students using web-based tools

Applicable NETS-T standards (2008)*: 1c, 2a, c; 3a, b, d.

**Read more about technology comfort levels for OK2Ask here. We suggest these levels to be fair to all who attend. If you sign up for a session that is above your comfort level, you may have difficulty keeping up. Please plan to watch the archived recording after the session to catch up on things you missed.

If you've never used Adobe Connect, we suggest that you run a
quick diagnostic on your computer in advance.

If you plan to attend the session via a tablet, please install the Adobe Connect App from the Apple or Android store. You WILL need a separate keyboard in order to participate fully (and earn a professional development certificate).
