Girls at Risk: A Trauma-Informed Approach
Wednesday, June 26, 2013 11:00:00 AM PDT - 12:30:00 PM PDT
With the increased awareness of the impact of trauma on girls’ lives, juvenile justice and community professionals are beginning to consider what this means in their specific settings. There is a growing evidence-base documenting the impact of relationship violence and sexual assault (as well as other forms of trauma) on health, mental health and behavior. This Webinar will explore the specifics of becoming trauma-informed, as well as the guiding principles for gender-responsive services. Presenters will also discuss the process of trauma, the impact of triggers, and the use of grounding exercises. Specific examples of exercises to use with girls will also be provided.
