NAHASDA Refresher: The Basics

Training Description: 
Having a basic knowledge of the Native American Housing Assistance and Self Determination Act of 1996 (NAHASDA) is essential for anyone that is providing housing assistance to Native Americans. This webinar provides an introduction to NAHASDA, the latest regulations and all program activities. The information covered will be new to some and a refresher to others. Board of Commissioners, Tribal Council, housing staff and housing partners are encouraged to attend so that all have a basic knowledge of the backbone of the housing program, NAHASDA. This course is a helpful prerequisite for other housing related webinars.

William 'Bill' Guevara
William (Bill) Guevara, a former Executive Director for several Tribal Housing Authorities, has over 16 years of experience working in Native American community economic development throughout the United States including Alaska and Hawaii. As the former Director of Programs, Technical Assistance and Training for First Nations Oweesta Corporation, Bill managed the following programs; Native Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI) Development, and Native Credit Union Development.

Bill is a licensed general contractor, real estate broker, NMLS endorsed home loan originator and a certified HUD Section 184 Native home loan originator.
